Since its creation in 2002, the Burgos & New York International Choreography Competition has been a platform for the projection of dance and the new languages of movement. It is also a space for creative encounters and dialogue where plural perspectives converge. Each year, it welcomes choreographers from around the world and develops a broad program of community activities that bring creation closer to the territory and audiences.
Organized by CIDANZ Producciones - Ballet Contemporáneo de Burgos in collaboration with the Instituto Municipal de Cultura y Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Burgos, the Ministry of Culture, the Junta de Castilla y León and under the direction of choreographer Alberto Estébanez, the Certamen Burgos & New York promotes the art of choreography and the creative values that inspire dance in the 21st century. This event, which brings together a prestigious jury every year, makes Burgos a special showcase for the latest choreographic proposals and trends.

FOUR COMPETITION CATEGORIES AND A FESTIVAL
The sections dedicated to contemporary and urban dance converge in a single competition that brings together both modalities. The section 'Dancing with Stones' will take dance to the surroundings of the Cathedral of Burgos while the festival Danza en el Camino will prologue the beginning of the performances with an agenda that travels through five autonomous communities. The 'Burgos T-Mueve' and 'Street-Art Muralism' contests complete the program. The deadline for receipt of proposals is June 1.
